ESLL Inclement Weather Guidelines
1. The President and/or Field Director reserve the right to close the field(s) or postpone game start times to ensure player safety and protect the fields. If closing the field(s), the President and/or Field Director must close the field(s) for the entire day. The President or Field Director will text field closures and postponements to ALL division reps, the Umpire-in-Chief and the Snack Bar Coordinator. Division reps will then text ALL managers in their division.
2. In the absence of any closure or postponement by the President and/or Field Director, the following rules of the Little League Rulebook shall apply:
a. Rule 3.10 (a) Managers of both teams shall agree on the fitness of the playing field before the game starts. In the event that the two managers cannot agree, the President or a duly delegated representative shall make the determination.
b. Rule 4.10 (d) As soon as the home team's batting order is handed to the home plate umpire, said umpire is in charge of the playing field and from that moment shall have sole authority to determine when a game shall be called, halted, or resumed on account of weather or the condition of the playing field.
